The Structural Engineers Association of Southern California (SEAOSC) is a professional organization of Civil and Structural Engineers which also includes affiliated construction industry members and students. The association provides its members with the forum, the educational opportunities and the challenge to meet high standards of engineering excellence, and ethical and professional conduct in the design of structures and facilities within the broader field of civil engineering. The Structural Engineers Association of Southern California (SEAOSC) is one of the four regional member organizaton of the Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC). The other member organizations of the State Association are the Structural Engineers Association of Northern California (SEAONC), the Structural Engineers Association of Central California (SEAOCC) and the Structural Engineers Association of San Diego (SEAOSD). The individual members of each regional association are automatically members of the State Association SEAOC. To join SEAOSC, please click on the Membership Application link and complete your application. The various membership categories and associated dues to select between are defined below. The Association's membership year follows its fiscal year which is July 1 to June 30. Therefore the membership dues for new members will be prorated on a monthly basis depending when application is made. A one-time $50 application fee will also be charged to your credit card in addition to the prorated dues. Member Category Definitions and Annual Dues: Member SE - A Registered Civil Engineer with the authoity to use the title "Structural Engineer" in the State of California. Dues $280/yr.
Member - Registered Civil Engineer regularly engaged in the practice of structural engineering, or who isconducting research in or holding a teaching positionin structural or civil engineering at a university or college, and who in the opinion of a majority of the Board of Directors has established such achievements in structural engineering as to qualify for the grade of Member. Dues: $280/yr.
Associate - A structural, civil or architectural engineering graduate not eligible for Member or Member SE status. Dues: $140/yr. Affiliate - Position in an allied field cooperating and/or working closely wioth structural engineers in the advancement and practice of the technical and professional aspects of structural engineers. Includes, but isn not limited to, geologists, CAD technicians, draftspersons, architects and attorneys. Dues: $210/yr. Industry Member - Position in our indutry cooperating with structural engineers and by expression of interest in supporting the goals and purposes of this Association. Dues: $280/yr. Student - An engineering student interested in structural or related engineering enrolled full-time in an accredited engineering school or college. Dues:Free (Note, all student member records are deleted during the summer months, and interested students can re-register/re-join at the beginning of the school year each September). Corresponding - Not a California resident and not included in any other membership category. Dues: $280/yr. Life - A SEAOSC member for not less than 20 years who is retired. Dues: $60/yr. Not available to new members.
