SEAOSC presents awards under the following three categories:

1. S.B. Barnes Research Award
2. Public Service
3. Engineer of the Year

S.B. Barnes Research Award (Established 1983): 
This award is given, when appropriate, to commemorate a member or members of SEAOSC for the application of structural engineering through creativity by concepts research, testing or construction techniques relating to structural design and rehabilitation and beneficial to the members of the Association.

This award is given, when appropriate, to a public official member who has contributed greatly to SEAOSC or SEAOC.
