SEAOSC is hosting a Public Speaking Workshop featuring noted communications expert, Nance Rosen, to kick-off a year-long learning program targeting younger members and beyond. This program will commence on March 19th at UCLA with an in-person, half day public speaking intensive for all SEAOSC members. Attendees will master the fundamentals of public speaking and effective communication for client interactions, new business development, and internal collaboration and presentations. Participants will produce a personal elevator pitch and have the opportunity to deliver it at the end of the workshop. In the following 30 days, participants will be eligible to have a one-on-one follow-up coaching session with Nance Rosen.
This learning program will focus on increasing communication skills that are crucial for structural engineers. These skills are rarely taught in a systematic, easy-to-follow method specifically designed for this profession. Public speaking, networking, and client communication can be a challenge especially for younger engineers, who may have to gain experiences through trial and error. The program empowers structural engineers, especially those at an earlier stage of their careers, with the skills of effective communication.
