Kenneth O'Dell (Moderator)

MHP Structural Engineers, Inc.

Ken D. O’Dell joined MHP, Inc. in 1989 after graduating from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural Engineering. At MHP, as one of five principals, he manages design and seismic renovation projects and leads forensic investigation work for the firm while providing staff guidance in design, coordination, project management, and construction support. Since joining MHP, Ken has undertaken numerous significant projects as Engineer-of-Record including high and mid-rise hotel and multi-family projects along with significant community college and K-12 work. Additionally, he provides onsite assessments for numerous seismic risk and due-diligence projects.



Tom Bouquet, SE

Saiful Bouquet Structural Engineers


Tom Bouquet is a Founding Principal of Saiful Bouquet, with over 35 years of professional experience in the industry. He has led the structural design of architecturally intensive new buildings, with special emphasis on large private commercial and public transit projects. He is very familiar with the recent developments in earthquake engineering and has led numerous seismic evaluations, repairs, and strengthening projects.

Mr. Bouquet has extensive experience in partnering and joint venture projects as well as management of multi-disciplinary design teams. He is known for his ability to interpret and complement an architect’s design through creative structural solutions, and has guided the seismic design of many irregular structures through DSA and other agencies. Projects led by Mr. Bouquet have been recognized with awards including SEAOC’s Best New Construction, Best Renovation, Best Seismic Strengthening, and Best Special Use Structure.



Daniel Zepeda, SE

Degenkolb


Daniel Zepeda is a Senior Principal and Office Director at Degenkolb Engineers, leading the firm’s Los Angeles and San Jose Del Cabo offices. He is a California-licensed Structural Engineer with over 23 years of experience focused on the seismic evaluation, design, and construction of both existing and new buildings. Daniel has led dozens of HCAI projects ranging from complex seismic retrofits of existing healthcare facilities to new hospital construction. His experience spans the full project lifecycle, with particular depth in construction administration, where he works closely with owners, contractors, and HCAI to navigate compliance, field conditions, and performance objectives.

He is actively involved in advancing industry standards through SEAOSC’s Existing Buildings Committee and contributions to ASCE 41.



David Eaves, AIA, LEED AP BD+C

LPA Design Studios

With more than 27 years of experience in architectural design, David Eaves plays a key role in managing the process of numerous K-12 school projects. Since joining LPA in 2002, he has worked with educational projects for clients throughout California. His experience ranges from campus enrichment modernization projects and remodels to new construction additions and ground-up comprehensive new campuses.

As Managing Director, David provides leadership and management to the integrated design team to collaborate closely with clients throughout the project lifecycle and help make complex situations easier to navigate. David is responsible for monitoring the project program, budget, schedule and documentation.

David’s ongoing passion is synthesizing the client’s vision to make early best-value decisions regarding building design and construction solutions, structural and HVAC systems, and project phasing strategies, which ultimately maximizes value for the client and makes the design-construction process more efficient.
